ISB Students Receive Prestigious Duke of Edinburgh Gold Awards

On the evening of Wednesday, the 27th of March, the halls of the Elisabeta Palace gathered students from Romania to commemorate a remarkable milestone, in the esteemed presence of Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown.

This special occasion marked the celebration of our ISB students who had attained the prestigious Gold Award of the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

The invitation extended to ISB by Mr. Shajjad Rizvi MBE, Chairman of The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Romania Foundation, was received with deep honour and gratitude.

Three outstanding students from ISB, Maria V, Ariel A, and Alexandru TP, stood tall among the recipients of this award. Accompanied by the warmth and pride of their parents, the support of Mr. Serdar Sakman, the director of ISB, the guidance of their award leader Miss Monica Tele, and the encouragement of Ms. Ingrid Stanciu, and Ms. Liane Moldoveanu, Maria, Ariel, and Alexandru graced the grand halls of the Elisabeta Palace, where their achievements were celebrated.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award program holds a special place in the hearts of those who embark on its journey. Our students mentioned in their speeches or in the friendly conversations the spirit of adventure, perseverance, and self-discovery they developed during the program. From challenging expeditions to community service, from skill development to physical recreation, the Gold level demands a holistic approach towards personal and societal betterment.

In the esteemed presence of Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, the significance of this achievement resonated profoundly.

The journey of Maria, Ariel, and Alexandru is not just a reflection of their personal efforts; it also reflects our school’s vision and values: H.E.R.O.

The legacy of the Duke of Edinburgh Award lives on, inspiring generations to come to reach for the stars and make their mark on the world.

In celebrating the achievements of Maria, Ariel, Alexandru, and indeed all ISB students who embark on their own quests for excellence, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering a community of learners and leaders, guided by the noble ideals of service, integrity, and compassion.
