The World Scholar’s Cup is a global non-profit initiative for students (ages 10-18) of all backgrounds from both government and private schools. The idea is to inspire in every scholar a love of learning and a confidence in new skills. Students explore interconnected topics in history, literature, science, and the arts; they then apply their learning both collaboratively and competitively in a safe and supportive setting. Local events lead to global rounds (including one held each year in Europe), and the annual final conference is hosted by the partner institution in the United States, Yale University.The best quick introduction to the World Scholar’s Cup is this link and also the website, www.scholarscup.org.
ISB has had the honor of hosting the Bucharest round, which includes both public and private schools from Romania, since 2018. At the moment ISB is very excited to begin planning and organising this year’s local event, which will take place on our campus on May 9th and 10th, 2024. The theme for this year is Reimagining the Present.
