Oxford University Press Author, Aaron Wilkes Leads Dynamic Training at ISB

A huge thank you to Aaron Wilkes and Dragonfly Training for delivering two days of intensive, inspiring, and practical training for our ISB secondary and primary teachers.

The aim of this training was to equip our teachers with a plethora of effective strategies and techniques for teaching and learning.

Our Primary and Secondary school teachers had the privilege of diving deep into effective teaching and learning strategies aimed at engaging students and fostering independence in the classroom. Aaron shared a wealth of practical lesson ideas that our teachers are excited to implement.

One key takeaway from the training session was this powerful insight from Aaron: “One of the things we need to find as teachers is to find safe fails for the students.” This reminded us of the importance of creating a learning environment where students feel safe to take risks and learn from their mistakes

The focus was on easily embedded strategies, fostering student independence, and insightful methods to “take the pulse” of the lesson. The sessions were packed with actionable ideas that our educators can’t wait to implement in their classrooms.
