On January 20th, the ISB Gym was filled with excitement as our school hosted the “Meet the Future” Robotics event, organised by our brilliant Andromeda Robotics Team. With 18 robotics teams from various Romanian schools, including those from Bucharest, Brașov, Ploiești,and Slobozia, and over 180 participants, our team secured a spot in the upcoming FTC Regionals next weekend.
Beyond being a typical competition, the event provided a platform for our robotics team to showcase their skills. Mentored by Ms Monica Tele, the students displayed dedication, perseverance, teamwork, and organisational skills throughout the competition, overcoming challenges such as unexpected snowy weather and logistical hurdles to ensure the event ran smoothly.
A big thank you goes to Mr. Serdar, our Head of School, the finance department, the campus manager, alongside the IT team and the supervising teachers who dedicated their time to support our team.

“On the 20th of January, we organised the League Meet, “Meet the FUTURE” alongside H-tech, in our school Gym, which was the perfect opportunity to develop ourselves, and learn from a successful team how to efficiently organise an event of this calibre. Although we had experience organising a wide range of events, we were unsure about how to ensure the matches and stream were up to FTC’s standards, so learning this information has been invaluable. The event was a success, 18 teams participated and each took part in 6 matches. We had a lot of fun hosting and organising this event and can’t wait to reconnect with all the friends we made through talking with other teams.
As we reflect on the successful organization of our League Meet, we feel a sense of accomplishment and pride. The meticulous planning, collaborative efforts, and innovative problem-solving that went into orchestrating the event have truly paid off. Witnessing the enthusiasm and camaraderie among participating teams, as they showcased their robots and shared ideas, reaffirmed the essence of the FTC community. The challenges we faced in coordinating logistics and ensuring a seamless competition only fueled our determination. This league meet not only promoted STEM education but also fostered a spirit of sportsmanship, collaboration, and gracious professionalism. As we decommission the playing field and store away our robots, we carry with us the memories of a well-executed event that not only celebrated technological achievements but also forged lasting connections among passionate young minds in the realm of robotics.” (Andromeda Robotics Team)
