Inside the Student-Led Model UN Conference at ISB.
Franklin D. Roosevelt Model United Nations Conference (FDRMUN), an ISB student-led conference brought together in our school campus students from 28 schools of 18 nationalities across Europe.
FDRMUN was a wonderful intellectual growth opportunity for students aged 14 and above.
Three days of stimulating debate, collaboration, and networking offered the incredible opportunity for students to develop essential skills, such as critical thinking and public speaking, while also addressing pressing global issues.
The theme for this year’s conference was “Empowering Future Leaders for a Sustainable World.”
The event was a success and we would like to thank everyone involved. Here is what a couple of our organisers had to say after the event.
‘Being part of the first MUN at ISB has truly been an experience. Organising FDRMUN has allowed me to work under pressure and has opened doors for me. Beforehand the idea of presenting was always difficult, but after presenting this project dozens of times in front of students, teachers and parents, it’s much easier to be in the spotlight. I’m thankful to have been part of this team.‘
Andreea C. (Year 12 student)
‘The whole experience was a rollercoaster ride. At the beginning, it was scary as we would uncover more and more tasks that needed to be sorted in due time. The process itself was pretty challenging, having to figure things out as we went along. Looking back, however, it all passed so fast. We were able to learn so many new things and discover what we excelled in and learnt to seek help from one another, as a team.’
