firSTep 2025 Primary and Secondary Exhibition

On Thursday, February 6th, ISB hosted the inspiring firSTep project exhibition across both the primary and secondary school divisions. The event showcased the incredible creativity and intellectual curiosity of our students, with projects centered around the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). These goals address pressing global challenges, including environmental protection, education, health, and economic sustainability.

Walking through the exhibition, you could notice the diversity of the projects presented. Each display reflected the students’ dedication to research, problem-solving, and innovative thinking. Below are just a few examples of the projects that captured the attention of attendees:

  • Innovative scientific inquiries, such as how scorpions utilize physical principles, the physiological effects of coffee, and the coordination between eyes, brain, and hands.
  • Environmental solutions, including microplastic extraction from water, bio concrete for sustainable construction, and prototypes for water purification.
  • Health and well-being studies, from the impact of noise pollution to neurofeedback therapy for children with ADHD and the effects of sugar on dental health.
  • Technological and economic explorations, including MagLev train technology, smartphone dependency analysis, and strategies for economic sustainability.
  • Social and educational initiatives, such as bridging the public-private school gap in Bucharest, enhancing emotional intelligence for academic performance, and promoting kindness in schools.
  • Sustainability-focused projects addressing ocean acidification, soil regeneration through kitchen waste, and mental health investment for long-term gains.

Congratulations to all the students and teachers involved in this fantastic event. Your hard work and passion for innovation were truly inspiring. Events like these remind us that the future is in good hands, and it starts right here at ISB.
