Participation in sports keeps students fit and healthy, and it also helps them learn and develop important life skills that will be useful at the university and in later life. These include leadership, organisation, time management, team work, sportsmanship, being gracious in victory and defeat, communication, sharing and listening to ideas, planning and problem solving. We use a wide range of athletic activities, games, dance, gymnastics, swimming and fitness to teach these skills.
At ISB we encourage all students to be fully active in all P.E. lessons. The department also offers an extracurricular programme of activities in which the students have further opportunities to get involved in sports and exercise. Some of our activities are offered simply as fun clubs where students can learn something new, make friends, get fit and enjoy their leisure time. Other activities are offered as school TEAMS, where we train with an emphasis on raising standards of performance to compete in various leagues organized by international schools in Bucharest and abroad.
Football, Table Tennis, Basketball, Volleyball, Athletics and Swimming competitions are among the sports we take part.
Lumina Football Cup is the most prestigious tournament among the private schools in Bucharest, which we proudly have been organizing for the past seventeen years.
